Mission and goals of the ICT Academy:

• The ICT Academy is envisioned as a virtual community, unified around the conviction that IT is a key factor for countries under development to have their real chance for a major leap into the modern globalized economics. We aim to work this to happen in our country as well while we invest the best of our assests to motivate and support perspective projects to help find them way to become a reality. This shall be done with a good coordination of the different fields of expertise of the founding members. We also wish to promote and enforce new laws that will improve the IT climate and the blooming of new perspectives for individuals and corporations.
• One of our start-up initiatives we are going to promote and build-up as a tradition in the sector, is known as „Bulgarian IT Oscars”. The Academy will award IT projects and solutions depending of varied criterias, among others: social importance and effect, innovation, ergonomics and design.
• Because of a "virtual" element in the very meaning of the Academy, events like the above would be one of the rarely ones members could meet "offline". Such phenomena is expected, as prospective members consist of busy individuals living far of each other and having very little free time to attend events or meet in person. We calculate to reach a mark of at least 1000 such members in a 2 year period.
• For reasons similar as the exposed, we plan our organizational structure to become very dynamic and flexible, founded on modern and interactivity-rich technologies, that facilitate communication, workflow and decision-making.
